We are looking for an Senior HR People Partner to join our HR Operations team based in Melbourne VIC.

This is a genuine opportunity to support the Operations function of our Corporate Functions division by providing professional and timely guidance and support to management and employees on all HR related activities. There will be a strong focus on change management, organisational design, workforce planning, training and development, performance management and employee counselling in line with Company policies and procedures.

This is a great role for someone with prior experience in a high-volume role who is looking to get exposure to a multitude of industries within our diverse portfolio of business.  You will have a track record of deep generalist experience and can demonstrate a strong knowledge of employment law. As a HR Business Partner, you will be confident and assertive and able to communicate and coach effectively to all areas of the business, peer through to GM level, to ensure better outcomes on people related matters.

As the Senior HR People Partner, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day coaching and advice to management on workforce matters, including performance management and employment conditions, disciplinary matters, and termination processes.
  • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and manage grievances in accordance with the relevant Company Policies & Standards, including the development of corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, with guidance from the Senior Manager – Human Resources.
  • Provide HR advice to assist in the effective management of workers compensation claims, RTW plans, and other fitness for duty issues.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Support key HR business processes in a manner that differentiates performance and leads to a high performing culture.
  • Understand business drivers and metrics to provide leaders with insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role at a senior advisory/HRBP level
  • In depth knowledge of change management and organisational design.
  • Demonstrated experience with ER/IR processes.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated application of Australian employment law and Modern Awards.
  • Strong foundation in a broad range of contemporary HR principles & practices.
  • Demonstrated sound decision-making capability weighing up multiple competing internal and external factors to ensure organisation risk is minimised and regulatory compliance achieved.
  • Strong relationship management experience.
  • Capacity to work well under pressure with competing priorities and time constraints.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a business-related discipline
