You will support the Geospatial Platform, and activities relating to geospatial data. The team are focused on geospatial technology and information across MPI and facilitate Ministry staff to make data enabled decisions.  We provide expertise to deliver geospatial tools, data, processes, and share knowledge to help deliver MPI's strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities will be to:

• Administration and management tasks for MPI's geospatial platform, geospatial software, and central geospatial data repositories.
• Ensuring Geospatial data and tools are available to authorised users across MPI.
• Administration of Geospatial tools (dynamic maps, dashboards, field collection applications, and FME data integrations) on the geospatial platform, as required by customers.
• Advise and support our customers to create Geospatial tools (dynamic maps, dashboards, field collection applications), where appropriate.
• Publishing data services, facilitating the best use of the MPI's geospatial data holdings.
• Assisting and provide technical support to geospatial platform users, assist the Service Desk in resolving or facilitating the resolution of technical problems.
• Working with MPI staff to set data, metadata, and open data standards for the ministry and support the management and effective use of geospatial data.

Mōu - About you 

You will stand out to us if you have more than 3 years' experience with the ESRI suite of tools, specifically ArcGIS Online. You will have strong FME skills and are up for the challenge of transforming data management tasks into automated workflows.

You will need to excel in problem solving, are hardworking and willing to get stuck into a wide range of geospatial application support, platform support and data management tasks. You show initiative, have a positive attitude, a desire to learn, great communication and documentation skills.

You will need the following skills and experience to be successful:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Geospatial industry
• Experience with ESRI product suite software and platforms including Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
• Working knowledge of FME Desktop - Experience with FME Server is desirable
• Demonstrated skill and understanding of good data management practice
• Experience with Python and SQL are advantageous but not required
• Ideally, knowledge of government processes
• Knowledge of developing and implementing processes, systems, and solutions within large and complex organisations
• A tertiary qualification in Geography, GIS, IT, or closely related field
• Experience in developing and managing relationships with stakeholders
