We are recruiting for a Senior Early Years/Child Care Practitioner; to work at our Ofsted registered Salvation Army Preschool, Gillingham. This is a key position and will support the Early Years/Deputy Preschool Manager and assist the Early Years Practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

You will report to the Early Years/Deputy Preschool Manager in the day to day leadership; development; planning and organisation of the preschool in working in partnership with multi agencies, local authorities, volunteers; staff and Divisional Headquarters in building on the Ofsted rating in providing a high standard of service to our community.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

• NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Early Years - Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years to BTEC/NNEB/NVQ
• Willingness to undertake further and relevant training; Level 4 in Early Years or an additional Level 3 Leadership and Management
• Senior/Key person experience of working in Early Years/understanding of child development and behaviour management and health and safety;
• A comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures such as safeguarding, welfare requirements and health and safety in Early Years;
• GCSE’s including English and Maths for good verbal and written communication;
• Understanding and ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army.
