The Opportunity

 

As the new Senior Design Delivery Manager within the Engineering Systems Integration (ESI) stream of Engineering & Maintenance (E&M), you'll lead the delivery and management of a program of works within Sydney Trains covering the  designs on Sydney Trains’ Annual Works Program and other special projects in the portfolio including Rolling Stock, Facilities Maintenance and Fleet Maintenance. The position must ensure scope, cost, schedule, risk and quality are met and reported regularly.

 

The role will be based in our Clyde Hub and is a temporary full time opportunity with flexible working arrangements.

 

You'll ensure best practice processes are provided in the delivery of safe, successful and compliant programs on time, on budget, to specified scope and quality outcomes in line with the business readiness to operate and maintain a reliable and efficient passenger train services.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

 

Managing and overseeing all aspects of project design development and implementation including developing project design management plans, coordinating resources, managing budgets, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project-related activities, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope in line with Sydney Trains project management methodology

Managing stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout the project and project deliverables are met

Refining and implementing project schedule and activities throughout the project life cycle

Monitoring and evaluating all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness, and achieve project outcomes

Tracking schedules and associated costs for achieving project completion within the budget and time allotted, and value for money outcomes when viewed on the basis of effective risk management, certainty of delivery and whole-of-life cost.

Ensuring reporting mechanism are linked to on time, on budget delivery and ensure implementation of project management methodology

 

About You

 

You're a seasoned Design delivery Manager or Project Manager with a demonstrated ability in delivering For Construction documentation on infrastructure projects on time, and on budget within the Rail, Transport or Infrastructure sectors.

You will hold tertiary qualifications (degree) in engineering, project management or a relevant discipline.

Significant experience managing multidisciplinary infrastructure design projects will be evident throughout your career.

You will be adept in understanding and dealing with technical, commercial and systems integration challenges, finding solutions and leading resolution.

You will have advanced communication and stakeholder management skills.
