Job Description

Our Group Compliance and Financial Crime team is currently seeking a Senior Conduct Policy Manager to be a part of their team. This role is based in London, in our St. Helen’s office with the option to diversify your way of working - working both from the office and from home. 

As the Senior Conduct Policy Manager, you will oversee the conduct risk framework across all our markets and be responsible for the implementation, embedding and oversight of the framework. The role is challenging and rewarding, you will be given the opportunity to work across different markets provide your advice and guidance to improve the conduct risk culture in Aviva, design conduct communication strategy for the Group, design and execute the conduct training framework and strategy for the Group.

Responsibilities in the role:

  • Develop and conduct ongoing maintenance of the conduct risk framework policy with approval by Board and Conduct Committee

  • Ensure market compliance with Group conduct policies including application for modification/exception

  • Drive delivery of market led conduct training across the Group

  • Consistently assess the conduct horizon to identify and understand what is emerging outside of Aviva, provide advice and guidance on conduct risk regulation

  • Perform an annual attestation of compliance to the conduct risk framework across the business

  • SME for the Group wide conduct and compliance essential learning, reviewing and enhancing content

  • SME for non-UK markets, providing conduct and compliance advice and guidance

  • Contribute to reports to the local Committees and management as well as Group and other business units

  • Provide conduct challenge and input into new propositions and other initiatives, clearly influencing the direction of travel and helping Aviva to demonstrate how we are meeting the customers best interest requirement

  • Provide opinions and recommendations for conduct reporting for Group

  • Build and strengthen Conduct Risk capability across the Group

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable track record of Conduct embedding, regulation and strengthening capability across a large organisation

  • Good experience and knowledge of compliance in the financial services industry

  • Experienced senior manager - capable of managing complex technical issues

  • Strong communication skills - able to articulate complex matters simply

  • Strong diplomacy, negotiating and influencing skills - able to bring agreement where there are divergent views, but stand firm where that is required and escalate to Lead and Director as required

  • Demonstrate great personal and professional integrity, with the ability to build and maintain reputable relationship with key stakeholders  

  • Strong judgement - able to identity and focus on key issues and guide and advise others

  • Experience working in Financial services, Insurance or banking

  • Salary up to £90,000 depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
