Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Change Manager to join a dedicated team focusing on the Finance Target Operating Module project.

The Senior Change Manager will work independently to help deliver and embed change for the Finance TOM globally. Through the application of business change methology/techniques, this highly skilled change manager will work with the programme and closely with the business to identify required changes, the nature and level of change impact on the business, and will ensure business readiness for change and that programme objectives and business benefits are delivered.

Vision and Direction

Provide support which helps others to ensure that there is a defined and agreed vision, a clear picture of the future state, a fit for purpose Target Operating Model (TOM) (if relevant), and that the change environment is understood. Make sure that the required costs and benefits are evaluated, the investment for change is secured and that effective change leadership is in place. Evaluate what change team you will need to deliver this.  

Design (Shape)

Design and plan the required change management (CM) interventions required to successfully embed the change. Support the change impact assessment against the intended TOM / blueprint. Help with stakeholder mapping and management and with communications planning. Help the business to develop an understanding of what CM interventions may be required.

Planning and Risk Management

In line with the programme, plan change interventions and ramp up for delivery of the change - ensuring a benefits and people focus throughout and bringing stakeholders along. Support the implementation of key plans and monitor progress of plans against success criteria. Plans will include: change management, engagement and communications, and benefits plans, benefits profiles, and training plans. Support L&D requirements e.g. create learning/training plans and materials. Lead and manage stakeholder engagement and communications, set up advocacy and mobilise ‘change agents’. Help to keep activities on track and maintain alignment with the business case.

Implementation

Support the business to be ready to accept the change, utilise new capability, and ensure the successful delivery and embedding of this change into the business. Own stakeholder engagement and communication initiatives and identify and help to address any resistance. Help with the development and delivery of relevant assessments, plans, processes and materials to enable the change i.e. business readiness assessment, change sustainability plans, new processes, training, benefits realisation plans and tracking.

The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of Finance Transformation, change management and understands how to leverage key senior stakeholders to implement changes across large complex global projects. You will have experience in designing and developing change management interventions in complex situations. You will be experienced in human centred design and be able to bring systems thinking into your work to ensure that we understand and connect all of the issues and that interventions run through the organisation. You will naturally be able to blend the art and the science. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing change management strategy and plans for the specific assigned project.

  • Key skills and experience required
  • Organisation Design experience from a consulting firm or, an expert within a global organisation. Should be operating as a Senior Manager level in this space
  • Relevant qualification, e.g. ONE of: Change Management Institute ACMF (Accredited Change Manager Foundation); APMG - Change Management; Prosci or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing, implementing, facilitating, and monitoring change on transformational change programmes.
  • Change Team management
  • Has sound knowledge of the principles and concepts that underpin change management and can advise on a ‘good practice approach’ to business change.
  • Good understanding and demonstrable approach to benefits management.
  • Own the narrative that is shared with key stakeholders and the wider business
  • Works directly with executive level stakeholders, key project stakeholders and is responsible for briefing executive audiences where needed. Is comfortable communicating changes within an organisation to executives.
  • Effectively prepares executives for changes, delivers key messages, and assesses changes occurring across a portfolio of projects, creates a portfolio dashboard/view and plans change management activities accordingly
  • Maps the dynamics of multiple changes, across various business segments, regions and stakeholder groups, and identifies interdependencies across the project. Sequences change management activities accordingly
  • Translates project information and data into compelling visuals that support project/initiatives’ business objectives
  • Works well under pressure and with complexity and ambiguity and can flex to changes in business focus.
  • Able to define problems and evaluate new concepts and ideas and identify recommendations and solutions.
  • Diagnose needs through various methods, such as focus groups, engagement data, interviews, workshops
  • Experience in stakeholder management on complex/sensitive programmes, and has credibility and impact with peers and leaders; and able to gain buy-in to enable change to happen through others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (including presentation) skills and a proven ability to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Able to identify both the overt and covert culture of the organisation and its influence on the change.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, and a high awareness of the project and programme context and discipline. Fully competent at planning, risk management, and dependency-management.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. Master's Degree preferred.  Minimum 8-10 years of experience.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Change Management qualification preferred (PROSCI or equivalent)
