Job Description

Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Senior Business Manager to support the CO+I Executive Office. CO+I is responsible for planning, building and operating Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure datacenters across the globe.  CO+I is supported by multiple business verticals to include supply planning and strategic acquisition, global construction, datacenter and edge site operations, critical environment and availability, engineering, and datacenter innovation. 


To help us continue to scale and meet our customer commitments, we are looking for a proven Senior Business Manager to support the office of the CVP.  Members of this team have unique visibility into a key Microsoft business and the opportunity to drive impact across the CO+I organization.  This position will report to the Chief of Staff to the Corporate Vice President and will be responsible for managing organizational rhythm of business, annual business / semester planning, action tracking and management, and cross-functional business readouts and assessment.  This individual must have a blend of strategy, planning, business management, communications, and program management skills to successfully support the Executive Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operating structures and Rhythm of Business (ROB) inclusive of Cloud and Artificial Intelligence Team Reviews, Fundamentals, Quarterly repeating cross-functional meetings and other critical rhythms as they are established. 
  • Build, develop and maintain highly collaborative and effective working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate proactive planning and flawless execution against our business objectives. 
  • Drive strategic alignment as part of semester and multi-semester business planning initiatives. 
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement knowledge management tools and sites to ensure effective cultivating, maintaining and sharing of team knowledge.   
  • Understand the end-to-end business to help effectively manage priorities for the Executive Office and CVP. 
  • Additional projects as needed. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years business management or program management in a technology organization 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 2+ years in business operations or datacenter domain experience preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, with MBA preferred 
  • Microsoft experience would be beneficial 
  • Proactive positive outlook and approach to change management  
  • Proven project management and organization skills 
  • Established business acumen and mental agility to ramp quickly across our diverse business and offerings 
  • Enjoy working under pressure and deadlines, with ability to manage complexity while driving clarity 
  • Proven effectiveness collaborating across groups and driving complex multi-stakeholder planning processes to desired results 
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas into easy-to-understand concepts  
  • Solid problem-solving skills with strong technical proficiency and strategic thinking 
  • Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment 
    Self-managing leader who takes initiative 

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
