Job Description

The Senior Applications Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the management, maintenance, and all aspects of the usage of nominated databases for the Division. 

Reporting to the Head of IT Products, the DBA will be responsible for all production systems and their associated lower environments. 

The position requires a person with very strong technical, scripting, development, and problem-solving skills plus an ability to communicate with colleagues and business stakeholders openly and effectively.

As a subject matter expert, some of the core objectives will include and not limited to the optimal performance of the databases and the governance and control on the changes to the databases in collaboration with the Applications teams.  The incumbent will work closely with the Production DBAs on the oversight of backups, monitoring, and capacity management, ensuring databases and associated systems are recoverable and available to Toll businesses as per agreed SLA’s.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

•  Min 10 years’ of relevant experience working within a similar position
• Technical knowledge in Database concepts and design.
• Coding and development experience using SQL and PL/SQL languages 
• Experience with Cloud Services like Azure & AWS.
• Microsoft Database products knowledge across SQL Server 2016 & SSRS/SSIS
• Ability to appreciate the balance between commercial, operational and functional requirements.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and software development methodologies.
• An understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
