The Role

• Public Sector Client looking for an experienced Advisor or established Senior with a Marine/Ecology background to join their Team.
• Provide high quality technical advice and assurance to internal and external stakeholders regarding international, domestic, maritime, environmental, port and harbour sector issues.
• Contribute to the development of the Ministry’s growing capabilities through collaborating with other agencies to formulate and communicate the New Zealand position on key environmental issues.

Skills & Experience

• A marine biological or ecological sciences qualification, or similar
• Sound analytical skills, decision-making skills, and leadership qualities
• Working experience as an advisor or similar role - preferably with regulatory experience
• Experience in leading projects or pieces of work
• Ability to simplify technical issues to non-technical audiences
• Good understanding of NZ's broader environmental legislation
