Sales Strategy, Public Cloud Manager

 

The Role:

We are looking for our next team member to join our growing Global Sales Strategy team, with a focus on our Public Cloud business. To be responsible for developing a cohesive strategy to expanding preference for AMD-based Cloud instances and to take part in executing this approach with our Business Unit and Regional Sales teams. To also work with our ISV partners in this space, partnering on ways to optimize solution performance on AMD-based technology.

Strong leadership skills, able to build partnerships across a variety of teams/channels, and a positive, go-get-em outlook. The ideal candidate will welcome challenges and be passionate about finding new ways to succeed.

Business, industry and sales acumen within the Public Cloud space is critical; familiarity with the dynamics of a sales environment and culture is imperative.

  • Strategic Approach: Leadership across the Cloud space, where you’ll be looked to as the SME for GTM strategy. Having a pulse on the market, a deep understanding of the sales cycle/processes and a proven track record of structuring and conducting analyses to generate insight and recommendations to increase sales/market share.
  • Follow Through: The ability to power through daily challenges to execute and finish the job.
  • Execution: This is a fast-paced role that requires quick action, constant communication, and never-ending drive for improvement.
  • Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills; able to connect with a wide range of audiences, including executives and customers.
  • Program & Budget Management: Proven success leading all aspects of large sales & marketing programs, including the associated budget
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage Corporate Marketing and represent Sales Vision for OPEX spend
  • Provide guidance on Sales engagement for global events
  • Collaborate with regional marketing on spend supporting Global Cloud
  • Work with BU to ensure an AMD Cloud story for sales
  • Act as POC for Cloud Specialist into the Cloud Sales team
  • Work with regional leaders on cloud priorities, headcount, pipeline progress and development, reporting, program needs
  • Manage engagement for Cloud Optimization and GSI partners

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience in the Cloud or Datacenter space
  • An understanding of selling Public Cloud solutions
  • Background working with regional sales teams
  • Project planning and management skills are preferred

 

Academic Credentials:

BS/MS degree in Business; MBA or equivalent working experience is a plus
