About this role

This is a key role in the Drone Solutions Team. You will represent BT Drone Solutions to new and existing customers, building and maintaining relationships to drive PoC’s, collaboration, demonstrations and profitable sales.

This role will continue to build BT’s reputation in market as a key player in the Drone industry, having a significant role in opening up the sky for the future of drones. You will have an intimate understanding of Corporate and Public Sector needs, to champion the right product and proposition set for our customers, whether that be our initial drone detection service or broader future services to support their utilization of drones and the benefits they will derive.

You will develop a deep understanding of our products and strategy, ensuring we work effectively with customers to understand their needs and how we can support them in their drone journey. You will act as an internal champion to work effectively with BT channel sales teams, delivery, product and proposition, marketing and key partners.

The role will involve UK-wide client travel, including regular visits to our test and demonstration site near Ipswich.

SC Clearance - you will be required to hold existing SC or be eleigible to apply for SC whilst in the role. 

You'll have the following responsibilities

Be an ambassador for BT, Enterprise and Drone Solutions both in the external market and with internal stakeholders, demonstrating best in class sales behaviour and managing relationships

Create a thought leadership position for target market, identifying key trends, competitors, opportunities in industry to build strategic and tactical relationships to enable success of product in market.

Buildbrilliant relationships with our internal channel sales teams, providing them with specialist insight, on customer, market and capability to make the sales journey easy and appealing to sell

Manage contract negotiations for new and renewing customers.

Work closely with Products and suppliers to build sufficient knowledge of technical capability to identify customer problem

Engage relevant colleagues within sales journey to build relationship with customer to achieve successful outcome (Customer Tech with BT Product/Tech etc.)

Work closely with Products, Propositions and Finance to define the commercial framework for proposed business relationships and create business models

Work with Commercial leads to ensure that suitable trading agreements and accounting constructs are in place to support sales through pan-BT channels

Help identify broader commercial opportunities with identified partners beyond initial engagement terms, and engage relevant colleagues in BT to explore with customer

Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction and quickly and effectively address customer pain points

Manage pipeline of opportunities effectively, building key metrics e.g. total market opportunity, addressability and traction achieved within

You'll have the following skills & experience

Consultative selling skills, assessing customer needs before talking about the product

Outstanding communication skills - written and verbal to influence and inform key stakeholders internally and externally

Ability to build and grow strong relationships across internal and external organisations

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders from different disciplines: technical, marketing, legal, etc

Strong commercial acumen and the ability to evaluate new opportunities and their value

Able to create win/win outcomes and negotiate deals

Able to work independently and flexibly with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

The successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain full SC Clearance, so current SC is desirable but we can sponsor your clearance application whist in the role. 

Experience

You have industry knowledge and experience within the Drone market

Deomonstrable experience in a sales or account management role

Proven track record of acquiring and growing business with large customer accounts.
