About the Role
- A sales management role focused on new business sales, through the management of a team of Business Development Executives, this role will primarily be desk-based, though limited occasional travel to visit your customers may also be required
- Leading a team of Business Development Executives, you’ll be expected to lead by example, manage and develop a team of new business sales professionals to deliver on all individual targets and KPIs through building a balanced pipeline of new business sales opportunities
- The role will collaborate with our Solution Specialist Team, Finance & Marketing to create and own your clear plan to deliver against targets and expectations
- You will be required to oversee pipeline growth and activity to ensure targets are met through the sale of solutions spanning the complete VMO2 portfolio of products and services. These include but not restricted to Mobile, DIA, Microsoft O365, hardware and various other connectivity and digital solutions
- The role purpose also includes ensuring the team deliver high levels of proactive activity to drive coverage across the target prospect universe and ensure a balanced pipeline is developed, large enough to deliver sales KPIs
- You will be expected to ensure high levels of proactive prospecting activity is delivered into your prospect base and all sales opportunity are managed and progressed using Salesforce (CRM) sales stages. You will be responsible for forecasting across you team and ensuring salesforce matches your forecast
- Pipeline management is to be delivered consistently across each of your heads
- You will be expected to follow a clear sales contact strategy to be implemented and recorded via Salesforce
- You will performance manager your teams and place clear and measurable objectives into plans
- You will create and manage coaching programs from the identification of areas of improvement for each of your Direct reports enabling development and performance improvement where required
Key Responsibilities
- Grow pipeline through proactive prospecting activity and conversion of Marketing generated leads
- Deliver results - this includes target achievement, developing and implementing action plans for delivering results, pipeline growth and management, forecasting, understanding and plans for correcting or enhancing your personal performance statistics as well as those of your team
- Coaching - and support along with Learning and Development to ensure you teams can self-sufficiently sell the full VirginMediaO2 products portfolio into your customer account base, with a clear growth strategy for each customer. This should be done both independently and with support from the Specialist Pre-Sales Team for the more complex sales when required but with a consistent curiosity to develop your own skills across our complete portfolio. You should have a personal curiosity to your own learning and development to ensure you can coach your teams in their understanding of our products / services and sales skills
- Activity – Implement a fully proactive contact strategy across all prospects within your identified prospect universe. To ensure you and your team understand our target customers key 12/24-month strategies and future connectivity requirements
- Position your team as Trusted Advisors to support VMO2 prospects with their telecommunications and digital requirements
- Achievement of all activity KPIs – outbound calls, account coverage etc as laid out within the KPI requirements for the role
- Sales conversion – support and develop your team to ensure sales and opportunity conversion targets are met

- Able to keep up to date with changes in products, services and competencies through self-learning and self-development – a curious learner who takes personal responsibility for their development in product & service knowledge as well as their own skills
