About the team

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure. 

 

The Role

Network and Assets branch at Transport for NSW is looking for a Safety, Quality and Environment Officer to join their team. In this role you will coordinate the implementation, improvement, and assurance of Regional Maintenance Delivery integrated management systems. In addition, you will support project engineers in implementing the relevant systems in construction sites, provide high level advice and support to all staff, and ensure system performance, monitoring, assurance, and reporting is completed as required.

This a Fixed term opportunity expected to work on the Oxley Highway, Natural Disaster Recovery Program, focusing particularly on landslide related repair work. The base location will be Port Macquarie (offices will soon be relocating to Mount Seaview).

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience in WH&S, quality and environmental management systems implementation, and have outstanding skills and abilities in the identification and management of risks in complex construction sites.  Extensive knowledge of civil construction and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment would be advantageous. A Construction General Induction (White Card) and an unrestricted driver’s licence (Class C) issued in an Australian Jurisdiction are essential requirements for this role.

 

If you have demonstrated experience in implementing safety, environmental and quality management systems and a proven record of providing excellent advice to managers and with regard to best practices in SEQ matters then this is the role for you.

 

To be successful in this role you will require the ability to plan, prioritize and organize work while delivering on tight deadlines, have strong attention to detail, be customer focused, demonstrate drive and commitment, and have effective communication, negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

 

Salary and Benefits 

The salary for this position is USS8 ($104,181- $111,796) - per annum plus superannuation
