About the team
The Infrastructure and Place (IP) division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. We are dedicated and passionate team that is proud of the work we do and the supportive and flexible team culture we have built. Our work can entail engineering and technical advisory and precinct renewal and place making.

The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Road Design Manager to lead a new team in strategic and concept specialist road design services. Collaborating with Transport Planners, Traffic Modellers and Project Management team to plan and manage road design options in predominately Brownfield projects.
Leading the way in developing strategic design options, strategic problem definition, constraints mapping and Broad-Brush option development to provide solutions to complex road design problems
Collaborating with internal clients and private sector design partners with a focus on creating design options for easing Sydney congestion
Providing expert technical advice to Project Managers and peers in compliance with policies, standards, procedures and agreed requirements to identify, rate and document technical risk
Support a team of Lead Road Designers and Road Designers in planning, managing and coordinating road design engineering services.

About you
You are a tertiary qualified Road Design expert with demonstrated ability to deliver and coordinate expert road design services by leading and mentoring teams. You also have high level analytical, research and problem-solving skills to balance design requirements and the management of technical risk in major infrastructure projects. You will have a highly developed understanding the interrelationship between road geometry, traffic signal operation and congestion management.
Salary and Benefits
