About the team
Our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team leads Sydney Metro in risk management and maintains the risk management framework for Sydney Metro including its multi-billion-dollar portfolio of projects. Our purpose is to ensure our organisation is able to respond to the challenges of tomorrow and ensure Sydney Metro continues to provide safe, reliable transport for our millions of customers across Sydney. We partner closely with stakeholders across our organisation to ensure we’re meeting our strategic objectives, creating a culture of risk awareness and working to find solutions that guarantee efficient continued operations. Our team has a collaborative and supportive culture, with an emphasis on trust and working together to problem solve. We take a proactive approach to risk management by managing risks and using our learnings to look ahead.
The opportunity
We have a unique opportunity for a Risk Manager to join our team on a 2 year fixed-term full-time basis. Reporting directly into the Senior Manager Risk, you’ll manage and coordinate the activities, ensuring that all elements of the risk management framework are up-to-date, fit-for-purpose and effectively implemented. You’ll also be involved in:
Facilitating the management of strategic, enterprise, operational and IT risks
Maintaining the Enterprise Risk Management Framework components including Sydney Metro Risk Appetite Statements framework, Controls Assurance Framework, including associated reporting and risk software (SWORD ARM)
Drafting risk reports for the Sydney Metro Executive team and Board
Delivering risk management training and briefing sessions

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Risk Management experience and ideally in a similar role have worked on large and complex organisations, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
Risk quantification experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Great communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
An interest in analysing complex data and information.
Relevant tertiary qualification(s), engineering or construction management is preferred and risk management certification (i.e. RMIA Certified Risk Management Practitioner, PMI) are advantageous.
Salary and benefits
