In this newly created role, the Associate Director of Nursing – MÄori Health will contribute to the delivery of health services to the MidCentral region in alignment with Ka Ao Ka Awatea our MÄori Health Strategy and Whakamaua the national MÄori Health plan with the key aim to reduce MÄori inequities and improve MÄori health.

Based in Palmerston North Hospital, in this senior leadership role you will be reporting to the General Manager MÄori Health with a professional reporting line to the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery and will be accountable for, but not limited to, professional services, nursing, clinical governance, consumer experiences, and inter-professional leadership within the wider leadership teams.

If you are a dynamic clinical leader who is MÄori and preferably from our district this may be the next step in your career. You'll be someone who enjoys engaging with all peoples, creating and maintaining good relationships. You'll be someone who can influence and impact, motivating others to join the waka to reduce inequities for MÄori in our district. Preferably you'll have relationships with our iwi and hapÅ«. Bringing your Te Ao MÄori worldview and integrating it into practice will be vital. You must be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current Practising Certificate, with either a post graduate qualification or equivalent and have a current PDRP.
Given the nature of this role and the outcomes we are aiming to achieve; having knowledge of te ao MÄori and te reo (oral and written) is required.
