International recruitment for the BBC

We are a busy team working with and recruiting for the World Service Group, Media Action and our locations across Africa, the Americas, Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific, South Asia, Middle East, Central Asia and the Caucasus. There’s always lots going on and for a small team we get a lot done! It has been a busy year and that’s not going to change so we would love to hear from you if you would like to join and support us in our international recruitment efforts over the coming months.

Role Responsibility

As a Resourcing Advisor you will provide recruitment support to the Resourcing Advisors and Senior Resourcing Advisors who are delivering an end to end resourcing service for permanent and fixed term hiring for the World Service, Media Action and our International Services.

This could come in the form of creating and posting adverts, responding to candidate enquiries, acting as a point of contact for hiring managers, helping to create candidate short-lists, organising tests, assessments and interviews and sending out interview packs. If you have previous experience in sourcing or managing recruitment processes then once you have found your feet we can expand this to include managing your own recruitment campaigns.

You’ll need to forge strong relationship with your team colleagues, hiring managers and key stakeholders some of whom will be in different time zones and will have very different approaches to how best to do things but we think you’ll embrace that as part of the challenge!

As a team we’re always looking for new and innovative ways of attracting talent as well as providing an amazing recruitment experience for both candidates and managers so we encourage you to contribute your ideas for continuous improvement by bringing insights into the organisation to identify new techniques, opportunities, risks and priorities.

The team is currently mainly working from home but that may change in the autumn to more of a hybrid working pattern so you’ll spend some time in the office and some time working from home. The team is spread across bases in London, Birmingham and Glasgow and is part of the wider News Resourcing team.

We know what it is like to start a new job remotely and that you will want extra support and help so we will carefully plan your induction to get you up to speed as quickly and comfortably as possible.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who really is focussed on providing an excellent service, whether that is supporting your International resourcing colleagues, by helping to attract great people to the BBC and providing them with a great candidate experience or by supporting managers to hire the best people for their teams.

We want someone with great ideas about how to reach potential candidates through different channels, who can write engaging job adverts and who is excited to get involved in the entire process.

You will need to have some previous experience of providing administrative support to multiple people or a busy team – we are completely open to where you gained that as long as you can tell us how it would be relevant to us.

Ideally you will have some experience of Recruitment or HR administration and it would be great if you have worked with Applicant Tracking Systems but we can support you to learn how to do those things.
