Job Description

This job position is a multi-role position providing accounting support to the Accounts Manager and management of all internal resources and documents used within the RTO, under the direction of the RTO Manager 

 

Accounting Assistant responsibilities include managing expense reports and reimbursements, entering financial transactions into our internal databases and reconciling invoices. 

 

Ultimately, you will assist in ensuring our accounts and account enquiries are answered and run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

 

As the Resource officer you will be the first point of contact for all resources used within the business. Ensuring each document meets our standards and is accessible by the required staff. You will be working with content writers and formatters to ensure this standard is met. 

 

Accounting Duties

  • Monitoring daily communications and answering any queries.
  • Ensuring payments, amounts and records are correct.
  • Check spreadsheets for accuracy
  • Recording and filing cash transactions.
  • Controlling credit and chasing debt.
  • Invoice processing and filing.
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records
  • Process reimbursement
  • Processing expense requests for the accountant to approve.
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers.
  • Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
  • Review and file payroll documents
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits

 

Resource Duties

  • Assist in the developing of learning and assessment materials including Learner Guides, Assessment material, facilitator guides (answers) and mapping guides.
  • Ensuring learning materials meet all required learning outcomes.
  • Incorporating feedback into learning materials.
  • Proofing material for formatting, educational and grammatical correctness.
  • Communicating with trainers for validation of material
  • Organisation of all resources on SharePoint
  • Record keeping and document control

 

Skills 

  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • Competent IT skills, particularly proficiency with spreadsheet software and Xero
  • High level of accuracy.
  • Extremely organised in a manner that is easily read by others.
  • Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information.
  • Administrative skills.
