Job Summary

Provide qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, and database maintenance in support of Economic Development Office (EDO) strategic objectives. Formulate solutions for new information products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EDO-related datasets and key sector information in support of departmental communication channels (e.g. internal resources, website, social networks, etc.) and business services
• Ensure that all research and information is gathered and disseminated consistently and in a timely manner
• Prepare EDO's performance measures;
• Contribute to EDO projects and initiatives by providing research and analysis and identifying opportunities, solutions and action plans;
• Respond to inquiries from the business community, partner organizations and City of Mississauga staff
• Participate in interdepartmental staff committees; liaise with various business organizations and associations, other levels of government as well as interdepartmentally within the Corporation
• Support the EDO Director and the Business Initiatives and Planning Manager in overseeing EDO financial accounts, including operating and capital accounts, ensuring all content is accurate and clearly identified
• Work with the Finance team on a consistent basis and provide financial updates to leadership.
• Other related duties as assigned.
  

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in research and analysis
• Experience in the municipal and/or economic development realm would be a benefit
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy along with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of data administration principles, relational database design principles and client relationship management (CRM) software
• Experience with Microsoft office suite, database knowledge and design software.
• Possess superior organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently, be self-reliant as well as be supportive and collaborative of the larger EDO team
