Job Description

We are currently seeking a hardworking, talented and motivated professional to join the Report Writing team in the Waitangi Tribunal Unit.

Researcher/Analysts in the Report Writing team are responsible for assisting with the drafting of Tribunal reports and providing advice and analysis throughout the Tribunal report writing process.

You will be required to work closely with a wide range of people including other Tribunal Unit staff, the judiciary and Tribunal members.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills
  • The ability to plan and prioritise work
  • You will be able to use your initiative and be an effective communicator with a strong focus on customer service
  • You will thrive in a fast-paced work environment with multiple work streams
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, the work of the Waitangi Tribunal is essential and an understanding of te reo, tikanga and mātauranga Māori would be beneficial

We are looking for a team player who is highly collaborative and able to inspire and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have a tertiary qualification in New Zealand history, Māori studies, public policy, law or other relevant disciplines, and preferably a postgraduate degree or relevant professional experience.
