BBC World Service is an international multimedia broadcaster, part of BBC News, delivering a wide range of language and regional services and working increasingly with other parts of BBC News to serve global audiences.
BBC Hindi is one of many language services serving audiences in India. We havea 24/7 website with a very vibrant social media presence as well as apresence on radio and a specific focus on women and young audiences. This role is based in the BBCs Delhi bureau, working closely and collaboratively with all teams in that office and with teams in the BBCs headquarters in London to deliver the best service for BBC audiences.
All Language Services are multiplatform, with a multimedia website anda focus on digital video, text andinteractivity for both desktop and mobile platforms, and a daily TV news programme for each service. We aim to make international news relevant to an Indian audience, and bring international perspectives to bear on Indian and global developments.
We are looking for a dynamic multimedia Reporter who will join us in Patna.
As Reporter you will be responsible for originating and producing stories primarily in Hindi which may include researching, scripting and presenting content across a range of BBC output or generating exciting ideas and original newsgathering.

To be successful in this role, you should have a sharp sense of news and recent experience of reporting. You have the ability to deliver the news in Text and video under tight deadlines, As well as the ability to go live on different social media platforms. Excellent written and spoken Hindi, interviewing and presenting skills are a must. You are resilient and have In-depth knowledge and understanding of states politics, society and culture. You are keen to travel and search for stories that make an impact through high quality journalism.
