About the Role
Merriwa Multi Purpose Service has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to provide safe compassionate person centred care within the facility ensuring safe care is delivered in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes. We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse who is keen to consolidate university studies and clinical experience. You must be willing to provide high quality patient care and contribute to a respectful workplace. You will have sound written, interpersonal and oral communication skills including computer literacy as well as an understanding of the nurse’s role and responsibilities. You will be well supported by experienced and senior staff as well as a Clinical Nurse Educator, with opportunities for clinical supervision and mentoring.
Where you'll be working
Merriwa MPS is a 25 bed MPS with a level 2 Emergency Department and comprises 15 Aged Care Beds and 8 sub-acute medical beds and 2 ED beds. Located in the west of the Hunter Valley, beside the Merriwa River and about halfway between Newcastle and Dubbo, Merriwa is at the centre of a mixed farming area focusing principally on cattle, sheet, wheat and horse studs. The town has a number of historic buildings and the Goulburn River National Park and Battery Rocks offer excellent bushwalking.

Although you may be a junior registered nurse, you will be a person with empathy and compassion, motivated to provide high quality care, have good quality communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to identify and act on resident needs and expectations.
