You will deliver high quality person-centred nursing care at Port Lincoln Hospital. Assessing individual patient needs, you will plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patients or groups. It is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced Nurses/Midwives, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing or midwifery care.
Port Lincoln Hospital a modern 48-bed hospital complete with Special Care unit, Chemotherapy/Renal dialysis Unit and Operating Rooms facilities. There is a wide range of visiting surgeons and the facility provides medical, special care, surgical, obstetric, palliative care and services for children. Situated in a beautiful coastal location, Port Lincoln Hospital is one of four rural general hospitals in South Australia, and has a range of clinical specialties along with a large and stable workforce.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements. COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Emergency Management (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) Directions 2021 to work in SA Health/health care setting.
