Joining the Nursing/Midwifery casual pool at Strathalbyn & District Health Service, you will assist with the provision of professional high quality nursing and midwifery care aimed at improving patient health outcomes. Working on a casual basis to assess individual patients’ needs, you will plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patients or groups. This role presents a great opportunity to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, with free car parking on site and access to attractive salary sacrificing options. Strathalbyn & District Health Service provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to specialist surgical, outpatients and aged care beds. Strathalbyn and District Health Service incorporates a public hospital, residential aged care and a day care centre to meet the needs of a growing community.

You will need to be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a country health setting.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.

COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Emergency Management (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) Directions 2021 to work in SA Health/health care setting.
