Our client is passionate about supporting people in their journey to being well, harnessing the power of whānau and the community to support them to achieve their goals. They provide a range of support services for adults and taiohi (young people) around practical daily living, leading a healthy life, employment, and housing.

They have asked Carejobz to recruit their new Registered Nurse, who will enjoy working in a beautiful community-based environment, where your ideas and passion will be allowed to flourish

You will be working with 7 clients in a residential community, offering alternatives to hospital admissions, when they are experiencing acute mental distress.

This is a new peer-led acute alternative service that is an innovative service at the forefront of modern mental health care. It offers a warm and welcoming home-like environment where people can be guided and supported in their recovery.

The role is 32 hours per week 3.00 pm- 11.30 pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

As a Registered Nurse working in our client's peer-led acute alternative service, you'll need to have a scope of practice to work in mental health.

You will be supporting people who are experiencing mental illness with clinical mental health support.

You'll help identify and meet their individual health and social care needs and support them to re-connect with community services and take control of their own lives.

You will conduct physical assessments and support people with goal planning.

You'll be reporting to the Team Coach and working in a team of 23, all with a common purpose to support people experiencing mental illness.

Skills & Experience required for this role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about implementing innovative ideas and solutions and providing exceptional clinical support.

And, you will have the ability to support and inspire a team, be a New Zealand registered and experienced Nurse with a comprehensive and/or psychiatric scope, and the ability to work within the field of mental health.

Ideally, have knowledge of the Canterbury Health and Social Services sectors, and experience working in an acute mental health setting.

You will also need to hold a full New Zealand driver's license
