The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is currently recruiting for a Registered or Clinical Mental Health Nurse to work within their highly skilled multi-disciplinary team at Ashton House. This is an exciting opportunity to support people living in a forensic step-down rehabilitation unit, safely transition into the community.
As a Registered Nurse you will provide nursing services in a rehabilitation and recovery health service settings. In this role you will develop from a novice practitioner to a proficient level of professional practice. You will consolidate knowledge and skills and develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience. As a Registered Nurse you will accept accountability for your standards of nursing care and for activities delegated to others.
As a Clinical Nurse you will provide nursing services in a rehabilitation and recovery health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study, developing from a competent to proficient practitioner. In this role you will accept accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. The Clinical Nurse role continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however employees are assigned appropriate portfolios. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.
To be eligible for this position you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice. Experience working with mental health consumers with complex needs is desirable.
COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Emergency Management (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) Directions 2021 to work in SA Health/health care setting.
