You will deliver a comprehensive and integrated range of evidence based, recovery oriented services across the Mental Health Service in Whyalla. Monitoring consumer care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis, you will assist and support the Nurse Unit Manager in management, clinical and education activities within the Service. Acting as a resource person based on your mental health nursing knowledge, experience and skills, you will work in collaboration with non-government organisations and other government organisations to meet the needs of the consumer group. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will accept accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. You may also participate in clinical auditing, clinical trials and evaluative research.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. Demonstrating competence in Mental Health nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will have prior experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses and Clinicians. With a demonstrated commitment to providing consumer and family-centred care, you will bring the ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a mental health setting.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements. COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Emergency Management (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) Directions 2021 to work in SA Health/health care setting.
