APU is a dynamic, fast-paced, busy unit providing assessment and treatment for acutely unwell medical patients admitted from their GP, plus patients admitted from the Emergency department. This is a busy department so a calm demeanour, a good sense of humour and being a team player is essential in the role. APU consists of a triage area within 24 bedded observational ward area and eight ambulatory chairs are known as the ambulatory care unit.
Ideally, you will have the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a high-pressure team nursing environment, which requires good organisational and communication skills and the ability to demonstrate safe clinical practice. You will be joining a skilled and knowledgeable nursing team that aim for high-quality patient care. We have permanent 0.8FTE vacancies, working 64 hours per fortnight.
