Job Description

If you’re an experienced HR professional looking for an exciting new opportunity where you can really make a difference, we may have the job just for you!

We are seeking a Regional HR Case Advisor with stakeholder management skills at all levels, and experience of excellence in client service delivery in a large organisation that has a wide range of business functions and business drivers. We’ll value your existing skills and experience while providing the opportunity for an individual with an agile approach, and mind set, to develop your career.

Pay, benefits and culture…

In addition to a salary starting from £30,000, we offer a market-leading company pension scheme, paid holidays with ability to buy additional holiday and a range of flexible benefits, such as: a company incentive bonus plan, health cover, cycle to work scheme, electric vehicle scheme, gym membership, discounts and employee pricing.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you do not need to be in the office for this role. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

You will however be required to travel occasionally to our offices in Gloucester, Bristol, Exeter and Bridgwater.

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself.  We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.  We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you’ll be doing…

You will provide a proactive, professional HR advice and guidance service which meets or exceeds defined service levels. This will involve providing legally compliant, operational and business focused HR advice to managers on a range of HR cases.

You will lead managers through predominantly, but not exclusively, the four main case processes: Grievance, Disciplinary, Performance, and Health-Related Absence. You will be responsible for managing a variety of cases across each of these areas and will support and coach managers across a number of business units.

Once a case is transferred to you, you will be responsible for managing that case from beginning to resolution, including the logistics that go with that particular process.

You will ensure that cases adhere to the appropriate procedure and are managed in line with the level of risk, relevant employment legislation and custom and practice/best practice. You will keep appropriate records of hearings (accurate file notes / timelines, etc.).

You will attend case hearings where required: you will be accountable to prepare, support, direct and coach managers through the hearing process in line with Company policy, guidelines, best practice, as well as employment law requirements.

Case hearings may take place within any reasonable location within an agreed region so travel will be required.

Who you are…

We’re looking for someone who has a broad knowledge of current employment legislation and best practice with the demonstrable experience of managing and attending case hearings, providing advice and support on the hearing process and policy issue, while taking appropriately detailed meeting notes.

You’ll have experience of successfully coaching managers to achieve successful resolution of the full range of employment issues including discipline, grievance, poor performance, Health Related Absence etc. alongside developed listening and questioning skills with a strong ability to translate complex legislative and policy situations into clear and comprehensible responses and actions.

This role requires you to have a strong positive team ethic, “can-do” attitude, excellent relationship building and stakeholder management, communication, coaching and consulting skills, with the ability and confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of leadership and flex style to deal with different situations
