Reporting to the Central Region Director People, Practice & Capability, as the Recruitment Lead you will be responsible for the delivery of recruitment services, advice and candidate care for all internal and external recruitment activity in our region. You will deliver efficient and effective recruitment services to hiring managers while leading and managing a small team of Recruitment Advisers and Candidate Coordinators to do the same. This will include planning attraction and sourcing strategies, designing and implementing recruitment processes, facilitating assessment centres, providing coaching and advice to hiring managers and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Some of the role accountabilities include:
Provide recruitment advice/support to recruiters and hiring managers through the identification and delivery of recruitment services including assessment centres, one off campaigns and search
Ensure recruitment services within region apply best practice methodologies and are in line with legislative requirements, Workforce Assurance Model Standards (and other standards set by PSC and GPG), the Department's HÅkai Rangi Strategy as well as the requirements set out in recruitment policies and procedures
Lead, motivate, manage, and develop Recruitment Adviser(s) and Candidate Coordinators(s)
Fosters a strategically aligned National Recruitment Service by remaining connected to National Recruitment Lead and wider Talent and Organisation Group as well as contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and sharing insights and feedback
Regular forecasting, monitoring and reporting on recruitment targets, placements, volumes in consultation with key stakeholders including Regional Finance Manager
Regional Recruitment Leads will work with the business and Director People Practice & Capability to confirm regional priorities and strategies as it relates to recruitment and keep abreast of and connected to job roles that are recruited centrally to provide regional insight and feedback
Build internal capability of both hiring managers and internal applicants by delivering recruitment training/workshops including assessor training
Promote the Department's as employer of choice at events and promotional opportunities by engaging with relevant community groups including with a variety of iwi and cultural groups

We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about recruitment, ensuring both hiring managers and candidates are getting the best possible service throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
Some of the skills/experience we are looking for are:
Extensive recruitment experience with proven success in applying best practice recruitment, leadership and selection processes to a wide variety of roles
Excellent relationship management and communication skills with significant experience providing advice and delivering recruitment services to senior managers and engaging with community groups
Significant experience managing recruitment advertising and projects including event management of recruitment/career events in the community
Experience implementing innovative sourcing strategies with a focus on attracting candidates with an understanding of Te Ao MÄori
Confident in knowledge of local Tikanga
Experience in managing, leading, coaching or mentoring staff
Applies knowledge of Public Sector recruitment processes and employment legislation as it relates to recruitment.
Experience delivering Assessment Centres is desirable
Experience using psychometric assessments as part of the recruitment and selection process is required.
Strong customer service and continuous improvement orientation
Organised, thorough and delivers on commitments
Proactive, flexible approach with a can do attitude and able to work independently
Works effectively and collaboratively as a senior member of the team sharing knowledge and ideas with others
Confident using MS office software and on-line recruitment systems
Able to demonstrate Departmental values within your work
Can apply knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to the work of government departments in day to day work Qualification
A tertiary qualification or diploma in business, HR or other relevant subject is desirable, however, a strong track record of excellent performance within required People & Capability areas is an adequate substitute.
Other requirements:
For the Recruitment Lead, travel across the region will be required on a regular basis, along with some travel to National Office in Wellington and occasionally to other regions
A full driver's licence is essential
As many recruitment and community events occur after-hours or on weekends, there will be a requirement for some work to be completed outside of regular office hours
