Job Description

The team at Atlas Concrete, located in Takapuna, require a Receptionist / Office Administrator to join their team at Head Office.


Atlas Concrete has been in business for 70+ years, supplying ready mix concrete, pre-cast concrete, aggregate and other related supplies to the wider Auckland and Northland regions. We have 9 branches across 4 divisions; Atlas Concrete, Atlas Quarries, Mt Rex Shipping and Atlas Tilt Slab.

The main purpose of the role:

Is to act as the initial point of contact for all telephone calls / enquiries to Atlas Concrete and visitors to the Head Office reception area, providing a friendly, professional and welcoming service.  You will be required to carry out all general administration and office support duties to ensure efficient and effective handling of daily mail distribution, mail-outs, photocopying, filing and other administration and reception duties as required.

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Answer all phone calls promptly and in a professional, helpful and friendly manner
  • Meet and greet all visitors to the Head Office reception area and provide refreshments as required
  • Update and maintain the active directory for Atlas Concrete and Atlas Resources locations.  Liaise with the our external provider to make any required changes
  • General office administration including but not limited to receiving, sorting and distributing all mail and invoices received and arranging couriers as required and purchasing general office supplies. 
  • Maintain the reception area and meeting rooms ensuring they are always kept clean and tidy and manage all meeting room bookings
  • Prepare and distribute the staff newsletter
  • Provide PA support to the GM as required

 

Key requirements for the role are:

  • Experience working as a Receptionist / Office Assistant and ability to field a high volume of calls and enquiries 
  • Having customer relationship experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

 

Hours:

This is a full time permanent role working Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm

You will be highly organised and customer focussed with a desire to provide superior service to colleagues and customers.  You will have excellent communication skills – written, verbal and listening and strong cultural awareness with the ability to relate to all people. The ideal person will have a positive, ‘can-do’ approach, initiative and a sense of humour!

Note: Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and are required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. On-going random drug testing is carried out.
