Radeon Concept and PMA Technical Program Manager- 124922

THE ROLE:

AMD is firing on all cylinders on our exciting Radeon Gaming and Compute GPU roadmaps. The Radeon Power and Performance Group (RPPG) is leading the charge in achieving leadership performance that is power and cost efficient across market segments, in each SoC on these roadmaps. RPPG’s Concept and PMA organization is looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive key strategic initiatives like AMD’s 30x25 datacenter power efficiency goal, and a very diverse set of projects in the areas of GPU PPA concept definition, Competitive Analysis, Power Management Architecture and Modeling.

 

This is a high impact role that requires extensive technical domain knowledge and an ability to engage with cross-functional engineering and business functions to achieve program goals in predictable schedules and with creative use of available resources. The role will also provide ample opportunities to deep dive into various technical domains and develop new skills.

 

THE PERSON:

You have a can-do attitude, excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication and summarizing skills. You are detail oriented and have an ability to learn fast on the go, execute amidst ambiguity and competing priorities. You are able to motivate a matrixed engineering organization based on data-driven analyses. You have a keenness for improving engineering processes and methodologies. Prior SoC hardware design leadership and/or development program management experience is needed.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and drive projects in GPU Power Management Architecture, Modeling and PPA Concept definition within the org and with external partner teams
  • Engage technically and logistically with various engineering teams including Product Management, GFX and SoC Architecture, IP Design and Verification, Process Technology, Circuit Design, System Design, ASIC Backend, Firmware, Emulation, Silicon Validation and Bring-up
  • Help create, track, drive and maintain schedules including key milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
  • Report status and outlook for the tracked programs and initiatives
  • Convene workgroups, drive agenda and follow up on action items
  • Leverage technical and program experience to create/improve engineering processes and methodologies
  • Potentially contribute with hands-on technical work in some domains as per knowledge and skillset

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of computer architecture, processor power efficiency and power management fundamentals, and SoC development cycles (concept to customer launch)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • 3-5 years of TPM or Engineering Management experience
  • Proficiency in productivity tools including Confluence, Jira, JAMA, MS-Office suite, change control tools like Perforce/Git and scheduling tools like MS Project
  • Ability to write scripts in Python, Visual Basic will be a plus

 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/MS/PhD in CS, EE or equivalent
  • PMP certification will be a plus
