This is a well-established main contractor specializing in projects across light commercial, education, refurbishments and residential. They would normally have 8 – 10 projects on the go at any point in time between $1M - $8M. They have a loyal team that have been in place for many years with very little staff turnover. At present the current Director and Construction Manager are managing much of the projects finances, pricing, programming and reporting. The plan is to recruit a QS/Contracts Manager to oversee the financial and contractual management for their builds.

Key components of this role involve:

• Scheduling/estimating
• Tender preparation and analysis
• Bills of quantities
• Cost management
• Subcontractor management
• Programme management and programming jobs
• Contracts management
• Progress claims and assessing variations

This would suit a a QS that’s looking for more autonomy and a chance to be your own boss running the commercial and contractual functions of the business. It would suit a qualified QS with a least 8 years coming from a main contractor with a relevant tertiary degree. You can multi manage several projects on the go between $1m - $10M. You have been involved in the programming of jobs in your current role or would like the opportunity to enhance your skills in this area. You can liaise across site managers and the current management reporting back on progress and issues as they arise. You are well organised, commercially driven, have an eye for detail, and offer sound technology skills where you can improve systems.
