Job Description

Collins Aerospace Systems, part of Raytheon Technologies, is currently seeking a Quality Lead to join our Actuations team. This role can be based in the UK, France or Italy.

Role Purpose:

The Quality Lead will work with stakeholders to improve quality performance and set strategies across operations and the Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owns the execution of Operational and Supplier Quality goals.  Sets direction and leads resources to develop, apply and maintain quality strategies.

  • Develop the vision & strategy to enhance the supplier quality organisation.  Set the direction and lead the resources to execute the strategy with a positive impact on the business goals.

  • Assess and mature the quality clinics to stream-line the improvement activities within operations and supplier quality.

  • Work with our international stakeholders to continually improve our work transfer processes and maintain compliance.

  • Develop and coach the team to maximise collective potential and create lasting change.

  • Provides guidance across the organization in the implementation of robust and permanent corrective actions.

  • Owns the establishment and execution of short to medium-term quality improvement plans.

  • Confidence to facilitate and resolve complex and extensive investigations

  • Develops and leads implementation of solutions to complex and high-level non-conformities and to satisfy key quality issues raised.

  • Ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

  • Leads the identification and management of risk in product development, driving utilization of APQP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.).

  • Directs escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and the development of recommendations for corrective actions

  • Leads teams responsible for ensuring all requirements are met for work transfer & process change management.

  • Coach the Quality Managers to continuously achieve the required skill base

  • Influence projects beyond the business unit with imagination, creativity and innovation

  • Fully utilise their extended network and influencing skills to gain collaborative agreement with key stakeholders to progress project or business needs

  • Enable and empower others within the business to be successful

  • Advise and arbitrate on issues which relate to complex or sensitive assumptions, approaches, arguments, conclusions and decisions

  • Advise on strategies for improving team dynamics on complex or challenging teams

  • Display as organisational savvy, knows where to go to overcome barriers

  • Develop positive relationship based on trust with both internal and external customers

  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the business

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Requires a degree with significant or specialist experience and a thorough understanding of the standards, processes, procedures, tools and techniques used in Quality.

  • Quality Management Systems qualifications

  • Understanding of Supplier Quality requirements and contractual flow downs

  • Has a thorough understanding of AS9100/ ISO9001 requirements and how they may be achieved through the Quality Management System.

  • AS9100 Lead Auditor Training or Industry equivalent.

  • Ideally holds CQI accreditation

  • Advanced Product Quality Planning implementation

  • Advanced Problem resolution techniques (I.e. Six Sigma, Red-X, etc)  

Relationships:

  • Strong links into with Quality, Supply Chain and Operations Directors and leaders.  Role spans across multiple sites in Europe.
