Job Description

We are currently looking to appoint a Quality and Safety Manager – Defence & Corporate within our Toll Helicopters business unit, responsible for leading and overseeing the effective management of operational and engineering quality and safety imperatives associated with the organisations Defence Contracts, managing, and maintaining the organisations Quality Management System, and leading from the corporate level the delivery of key continuous improvement initiatives in support of the execution of the Quality and Safety functional Strategy.   

Please note this position can be based anywhere within Australia.  Noting travel will be a requirement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assure the effective implementation and maintenance of all required quality, safety and environmental processes and procedures for the organisations Defence Contracts and support services.
  • Effectively manage and oversee the process lifecycle for all Defence contract related quality, safety and environmental hazards and occurrences. 
  • Oversee the timely and effective local treatment of quality, safety and environmental risks arising from Defence contract operations and engineering support services activities
  • Oversee the timely and effective corrective action response to process deficiency and non-performance identified within Defence contracts operations and engineering activities.
  • Facilitate Local Defence Contract Safety Action Group Meetings and participate in monthly Safety, Quality and Environment Oversight Committee Meetings
  • Perform investigations, root cause and defect analysis, audit activities, recommend appropriate risk treatment and/or corrective-action response plans and verify implementation and effectiveness.

Qualifications

To be successful you will have:

  • Minimum 8+ years previous experience providing quality / safety management support to Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organisations
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience providing quality and safety support to Defence and/or State Government Contracts
  • Extensive ISO9001 Quality Management, and CASA and DASR Part 119/Part 145 Safety Management System knowledge and experience
  • Proven experience leading investigations, root cause and defect analysis activities
  • Proven experience Leading Audits and coordinating external Audit activities
  • Experience with Sentinel and familiarity with Defence Aviation Safety Reporting requirements
  • Ability to hold an ADF Security Clearance
  • Experience developing and facilitating Quality and Safety Training
  • Demonstrated experience in Document Control and management.
