What will I be doing?

This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at BestStart Kelvin Street!

Kelvin street is a 75 licensed centre with a stable and well established team. Our centre is in the heart of Invercargill and is passionate about getting out and about in nature, creating great whanau engagement and thinking outside the box.

We are looking for someone who can work well with others as we are passionate about supporting our team members to thrive by recognizing their passions and expertise.

We know that quality teaching happens when we support children to thrive by responding to their ideas about how the world around them works and provide hands on learning opportunities to support their life-long learning.

This position is permanent and part time working 20 to 25 hours per week (flexible days), working in our under 2's.

Role requirements :

• B Ed / Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration / certification
• Passionate about working with children
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of planning and assessment, pedagogy, and curriculum
• Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
• Be excellent in all forms of communication
• Warm, nurturing, energetic, creative and respectful
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
