What will I be doing?

This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you'll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at Cat's Pyjamas Rolleston!

We have fantastic outdoor areas in all the rooms, well-resourced and all our permanent staff are qualified. We believe in incorporating our whānau and families' aspirations and beliefs for their child/children in our day-to-day teaching. With a mix of teacher lead and child lead experiences and primary care in Nursery room and elements of primary care in the older rooms.

At this stage in a child's life, independence has started, and we encourage children to develop this attribute. Self help skills are encouraged and supported. Children learn about routines which will foster language skills and the ability to concentrate will be extended. This is a very exciting opportunity!

This position is permanent and full time, in our Prep school room with our 3.5-5 year old tamariki.

Role requirements:

• B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
• Passionate about working with children
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of planning and assessment, pedagogy and curriculum
• Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
• Be excellent in all forms of communication
• Warm, nurturing, energetic, creative and respectful
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
