What will I be doing?

This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you'll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at BestStart Papanui!

At Beststart Papanui we strongly value that children learn through play. We believe that through play our children will develop a lifelong love of learning and become capable, confident learners with inquisitive minds.

We are a beautiful Centre with a huge playground for the children to explore. The children love to feel nature through their feet, warm their hearts through exploration and learn together through play. We love to get out into our local community and are a small centre with two classrooms - nursery 0-2 years and a preschool for 2-5 years old. License for 40 children.

This position is permanent and 24 hours per week, with our 2-5 year old tamariki.

Role requirements:

• B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
• Passionate about working with children
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of planning and assessment, pedagogy, and curriculum
• Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
• Be excellent in all forms of communication
• Warm, nurturing, energetic, creative and respectful
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm
