What will I be doing?

This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you'll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at BestStart Cashmere.

BestStart Cashmere is a family focused early learning centre located in the heart of the Cashmere/Beckenham loop. We pride ourselves on our strong community connections and meaningful relationships with whānau and tamariki to ensure that we provide the best possible care and education for every child.

Both of our outdoor environments are inclusive of the natural environment and children flourish in the spaces we have on offer. The 2-5 year old outdoor space is vastly spacious, brilliantly designed and beautifully resourced. We also boast a natural and well enjoyed garden area where children engage in gardening, composting and worm farms. We also have a strong focus on teacher mentoring and support with regular coaching meetings with Head Teachers and the Centre Manager.

The role is permanent working 32 to 40 hours per week with our 3-5 year old age group in our preschool and prep rooms.

Role requirements:

• B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of programme planning, curriculum and individualized planning
• Excellent communicator with a variety of people and cultures
• A fun and energetic approach to learning and a positive outlook with proactive approaches to learning and relationship building
• Demonstrate good knowledge of Te Whāriki and the current ECE Regulations
