As a registered Psychologist, you will be supporting the wider Auckland Prison team and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team completing psychological assessments and treatments designed to reduce risk of reoffending. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to use your clinical expertise and provide professional expertise and leadership in a diverse social service environment. Working within a scientist-practitioner framework, providing clinical services targeted to assist people in our management to develop skills to reduce re-offending is pivotal to this role. Using a Braided Rivers Approach (He Awa Whirira), and incorporating Te Ao MÄori worldview into bicultural practice, we believe that this approach will contribute to achieve our outcomes of wellbeing and reducing reoffending for those in our management.
Our psychologists undertake clinical assessments and treatment (both group and individual) in prison and in the community, provide supervision, advice and training within Corrections and allied agencies, monitor integrity of rehabilitation programmes and participate in service and research initiatives.
