Job Description

The Embassy of the United States of America in Wellington is seeking a friendly, reliable and efficient professional for the position of Property Clerk. 

If you are driven, flexible and enjoy working in a busy environment, then this position is for you! Reporting to the Shipping and Supply Supervisor, the Property Clerk will assist the team with various property, record keeping, location transfers and escorting requests. Working as a part of a small team, you will also be required to physically move and store government property, including lifting heavy items, installing furniture, and bringing excess items to disposal locations. 

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • have completed secondary school
  • have at least one year of work experience in customer service
  • be competent in MS Office Programs (Outlook, Word and Excel
  • have a valid NZ driver’s license and experience operating small trucks or heavy vehicles, with the ability to obtain a class 2 license if you don't already have one.
  • be a team player - enjoy supporting and working with others
  • have strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds.

The starting salary for this position is NZD $60,702 per annum. We also offer some special benefits e.g. both U.S. and New Zealand Holidays - a total of 20 days, and 8.7% contribution by the employer to an employee's retirement.
