About the team

 

The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation $28 billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come.

 

 

The opportunity  

 

We have a full time permanent opportunity available for a Project Planner to join our Project Performance unit within Commercial, Performance and Strategy branch of Infrastructure & Place division.

This role will develop and maintain schedules for a portfolio of projects/programs to monitor key activities and assess impacts to achievements of key milestones for full lifecycle of projects/programs and you can choose to be based in our Sydney, Newcastle of Grafton offices.

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager Planning, you will:  

Be accountable for developing and monitoring of project/program schedule generally through the development and delivery phases, including working with the detailed contractor schedule.

Develop and implement Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) including alignment with Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) in accordance with TfNSW standards and procedures with TfNSW project management team in Development phase.

Work closely with contractor’s scheduler to ensure the quality of their level 4 schedule is maintained and tracked against the baselined schedule using meaningful rules of credit.

Analyse the schedule using different method including Earned Value method, critical path method and etc.

Work with project team to review impacts, test scenarios and develop mitigation plan and corrective actions.

About you 

 

This role would suit someone who is highly motivated and loves thinking outside the box. No two days in this role would be same and therefore you would need to be ready to put on multiple hats and be a team player. Additionally, we would be looking for:

Demonstrated experience in the preparation and maintenance of the schedules in various infrastructure projects/programs in development and/or delivery phases across multi-disciplinary industries. 

Must have sound knowledge of construction methodologies and demonstrate good understanding of first principle planning practices, processes and system construction

Proactively lead a planning and controls culture across project delivery teams

Must be able to understand how to develop and maintain construction schedules and the importance of traceability of changes

Having a tertiary degree in Civil Engineering or Construction with site experience is preferred

 

Regular working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Dashboard reporting will be preferred. 

 

The role may require visiting project sites and effectively communicating with project site personnel, stakeholders, consultants, designers and partners.

 

Salary and benefits 

 

The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($135,898 - $152,204) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
