The Division
The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.
About the team
Community and Place leads engagement with NSW regional communities and stakeholders to champion their needs and achieve integrated community outcomes. Within this branch sits Major Projects North, which encompasses the Central Coast through to the QLD border and West to Gunnedah.
The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for Project Officer to join the Major Works team at our Grafton or Newcastle locations, on a TFT basis to February 2023.
The role supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of a wide range of projects and initiatives in support of Branch strategic objectives, organisational strategic plans and workforce management programs.
In this role, you will:
Lead the development of work processes across a range of Branch initiatives to deliver outputs that are on time, within budget and meet quality requirements.
Build and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with our customers, colleagues, stakeholders, and partners to understand and manage risk and influence sustainable outcomes by the development and implementation of effective stakeholder involvement plans.
Assist in the development of project tools and documents, including proposals, plans, briefs and reports, to support effective planning and delivery.
Identify and manage risk by developing innovative solutions and seeking additional expertise where necessary.
Participate in knowledge sharing activities, including attendance at project workshops, to assist with continued organisational learning to improve practices in project management.

About You
To be successful in this role you will possess demonstrated experience in project development and delivery, as well as experience in supporting complex or sensitive projects, within the construction, engineering or related industry.
We are looking for a self-starter who builds strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders. You have strong communication skills, along with a collaborative approach to achieving project outcomes. You will drive your own workload and priorities, whilst working across multiple time sensitive projects.
As this position is based within Regional and Outer Metropolitan division, you have an affinity to regional NSW. You will be passionate about promoting and enabling a continuous connection with regional NSW and you’ll be inspired by the opportunity to make regional NSW a better place to live, work and enjoy.
Salary and Benefits
