The Division

The Greater Sydney Division is redefining integrated transport choices to improve the lives of customers and communities, making Greater Sydney a better place to live, work and play. We have the single biggest place making opportunity at Transport in the coming years, reshaping Greater Sydney into a metropolis of three cities – Eastern Harbour City, Central River City and Western Parklands City - whilst also overseeing the Greater Sydney region as a whole.

Greater Sydney is focused on these three cities and delivering a joined-up transport network and services to ensure these cities become the places that their customers and communities really want.

The opportunity

A rare opportunity exists for a Project Manager to lead the implementation of the biggest transformation strategy within TfNSW’s Transport Management Centre (TMC).

Encompassing organisational transformation, technology implementation and business improvement initiatives including new ways of working, the Project Manager will play a major role in the development, implementation, and project tracking of the overall strategic change program for the TMC, in partnership with the Change Manager and SMEs across the division.

This newly created role presents an opportunity for a project management professional to design, influence and implement strategy from the outset. You will also be involved in:

Establishing project plans and frameworks, business systems and processes to support the organisation's objectives.

Develop and implement project methodologies to support the management and reporting of project milestones, communications, governance and compliance.

Minimise project and probity risks through developing and maintaining reports, policies, standards, procedures and tools that prescribe best practice to manage compliance.

Monitor, evaluate and report on the development and implementation of projects to identify issues and ensure the achievement of desired outcomes.

Provide expert advice on project strategies, delivery, contracting and procurement activities as required to guide project delivery.

Provide expert advice and information on project issues and initiatives to inform relevant internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the appropriate interpretation and implementation of projects.

The position Fixed Term to February 2023, and will be located at the TMC in Eveleigh, Sydney.

About you

The successful candidate will be a seasoned Project Manager, with experience managing large teams through complex, dynamic, and challenging organisational change processes.

You will demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain lasting stakeholder relationships to support effective change, along with demonstrated experience utilising leading Project Management principles, methodology, and tools.

The ability to identify, manage and address risks and issues to the successful implementation of business change is critical to success in this role. You are an incredibly organised, driven professional, who has a people-centric approach to Project Management.

Please note that this is not an ICT change project, and we therefore welcome applications from those with broader organisational change experience.

Salary and Benefits
