The Opportunity 

 

Right now, we have a permanent-full time Project Engineer opportunity available within our Regional and Outer Metropolitan Division. As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for delivering road maintenance projects in order to achieve road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives. You will be supported in this role to further enhance and build on your existing skills as a project engineer. This position is located primarily in our Dubbo office with travel requirements across the region.

 

We place a high priority on making safety paramount, both for the people working on our project sites and for customers travelling through them. In delivering our work, we work closely with our stakeholders and customers to ensure their views are heard and considered.

What you will be involved in:

 

  • Contribute to the oversight of nominated projects by providing project management assistance for specific projects to enable projects to be completed on time and within scope objectives
  • Support the control, administration and delivery of contracts and assist the Superintendents representative on selected contracts to ensure the effective delivery of contract works
  • Develop project briefs for Professional Service providers and internal service units to assist with the management of design and investigation process and to support quality design
  • Support the implementation of TfNSW’s procedures, guidelines, processes and practices to maintain a high level of WH&S, Industrial Relations, environmental management and quality on projects/contracts
  • Provide timely and accurate project reports and briefing papers for management, develop and maintain quality records, and undertake research to contribute to the effective management of projects

 

 

About you 


You have a four year civil or related engineering degree and knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in road construction and other related traffic infrastructure construction and maintenance.

 

You have experience in the preparation of WH&S management plans, quality management plans, environmental management plans, and traffic management plans for assigned projects and the ability to manage a direct control workforce to successfully undertake construction and maintenance projects. Ideally you will also have experience in investigation and design processes, developing project briefs, cost estimates, procurement and overseeing service providers.

Salary and Benefits

 

The salary for this position is USS Engineer Level 1 - 2 ($96,105- $127,409) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
