Programme Manager (10469)

To play a lead role in delivering one (or more) of the efficiency and effectiveness programme work streams and Retail and Trading transformational projects and provide a significant contribution to the broader organisational change programme as well as taking responsibility for the governance of complex projects with Retail.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead on implementation work across one or more ‘Retail and Trading transformational projects, including delivery of the detailed project plan.
  • Lead on project management governance of the work stream/s including regular monitoring of costs, benefits, progress and timescales and reporting this to senior management.
  • Ensure accurate and up to date recording and reporting mechanisms of all aspects of the project and work-streams within it, including plans.
  • Work alongside the relevant support services teams and HR colleagues to implement required changes to structures, systems and processes, to ensure successful implementation alongside business as usual activity.

Some key skills we are looking for are:

  • Highly tuned, project sizing; organising; prioritising; planning; strategy; implementation and management skills
  • Ability to self-manage your time, lead on individual projects, consulting with others, and ensuring that items are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Good project and time management skills and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Capability to identify risks, undertake issues analysis and apply management skills to identify solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; including with senior management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including communicating with different audiences and ability to communicate complex and/or difficult messages in a clear, concise and empathetic manner.
  • Ability to work with, support and influence others in and out of Barnardo's and build collaborative environments
  • Ability to understand complex business issues and processes and to apply to project and programme methodologies.
