Programme Manager

Location: Newbury (Starting with working from him, occasional travel to office location)

This exciting role manages sits within the PMO team and will drive end-to-end projects & programmes and has responsibility for the planning, coordination, and deployment of all releases into production within a particular domain. They identify, manage, and mitigate individual projects, programmes or cross-programme risks and issues in order to facilitate the on-time and on-budget delivery of capabilities and features aligned to the business outcome vision. 
 

The Project Lead focusses on successful delivery of the whole of the proposed change, through effective co-ordination of the programme or project tasks, management of their inter-dependencies and holding project stakeholders to account for delivering their individual activities effectively.
 

This role will also be instrumental in delivering the vodafone’s growth strategy including programmes process & application optimisation, specifying and delivering new capabilities, on-boarding new divisions, sharing learnings and best practice and driving the transformation towards digital and smart ways of working. 
 

What will you be doing?
 

 

  • Driving transformation across multiple channels, products, systems and departments
  • Drive the delivery of the programme/project through active management ensuring milestones are met to time, cost and quality
  • Define release readiness requirements against business outcome needs and validate readiness before release into production
  • Ensure overall integrity of the project and compliance to Standards
  • Monitor performance across programmes in the portfolio to enable tracking of the strategy execution
  • Use best practice knowledge to generate analytics and maintain a common set of practices, principles and templates for managing, anticipating and exceeding business needs
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, coordinate project stakeholders and may also act as lead representative in key governance and decision meetings
  • Maintain strong relations and work closely with stakeholders across Vodafone and external partners in order to ensure alignment with the broader commercial objectives of the business
  • Championing new ways of working as the Business adopts SAFE ways of working.

Who are we looking for?
 

  • Ambitious with a challenger mindset and is passionate about making real transformation and impact in to the business
  • Able to flex project/programme frameworks and approaches to manage projects and relationships in order to drive excellence through effective action management/tracking, planning and cost/quality control  
  • Demonstrates clear and effective communication through all channels 
  • Robust understanding of business needs, identifies and prioritises stakeholders, builds sustainable relationships to drive increased business performance and best value outcomes
  • Drives performance and relationship management with internal and external stakeholders to support improvement of delivery standards for Vodafone and our customers
  • Able to quickly and efficiently identify opportunities, tackle big challenges, understand root causes and make informed decisions in order to deliver business impact
  • Ability to identify and understand emerging risk and apply the risk management approach. Understands the process of Risk identification and assessment, response and reporting
  • Project/Programme management 
  • Self-Starter that can deal with ambiguity
  • Has Agile experience (SAFE) / Agile coach 
  • Experience in a PMO team is also desirable
  • Proficient on Microsoft applications such as Power Point, Excel
