The Azure Service Fabric team is looking for a Technical Program Manager 2 with a product-oriented focus and strong technical depth to join our growing team in Atlanta. As a part of the Service Fabric team, you will be responsible for driving the product direction and roadmap for orchestrating large-scale internal first party services on Azure.
Service Fabric is a distributed systems platform used to package, deploy, and manage large scale microservices. In addition to adoption among external customers, a broad set of Microsoft internal services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Event Hubs use Service Fabric to abstract the complexities of developing and managing large scale distributed services. Our customers bet on Service Fabric to ensure that they can achieve dense packing of services on Azure VMs in order to optimize their costs. We continue to innovate across core Service Fabric components to optimize for placement of services to ensure this dense packing, while also guaranteeing high uptime and low interruption rate for services. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with Azure Internal customers to drive these innovations in core Service Fabric Platform.
Strong technical knowledge, good communication skills, and customer-focus are a must to succeed in this role. A background in Kubernetes, Containers, developer tooling and/or Service Fabric will be an advantage and may enable you to bootstrap faster. This role would be especially well-suited to developers who may have worked on Service Fabric itself or have used it to build other services and are looking to transition to a PM role.
We are a team of builders and learners who aim to simplify creating and running services which can scale to millions of customers. Our team is composed of people from diverse backgrounds – former software developers, site reliability engineers, technical program managers, and product managers. The breadth of combined experience enables us, as a team, to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve Service Fabric. We respect and encourage differing opinions and an ability to question status quo.
Azure Service Fabric team is a globally distributed team. This role may require travel (5-10%), primarily to Redmond for team events and interaction. The role also provides opportunities for travel for business conferences based on candidate’s preferences.
