MAJOR DUTIES:

• Creation and maintenance of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to drive the manage the Material Requirements Plan (MRP)
• Creation of the Shop Floor Schedule that supports the business objectives and customer demand
• Inventory control & management through investigation, analysis and reporting

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily communication with Production and co-ordination of production schedules
• Ensure system updates are conducted to provide accurate planning for purchasing activities and manufacturing capacity considerations
• Review and respond to MPS messages to create and manage work orders
• Analyze & maintain capacity needs to develop realistic manufacturing schedules
• Analyze and communicate part availability to determine potential impacts on production schedule and action necessary to mitigate customer orders
• Accurate and timely processing of Engineering changes
• Analyze and adjust inventory as required (inventory adjustments, reclassifications, receipt reversals and cycle counts)
• Weekly review of system generated inventory reports to identify inconsistencies such as negative location counts, WIP levels and on hand dollar balances
• Monthly reporting of inventory accuracy
• Monthly review of slow-moving inventory
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct

Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a materials management & supply chain environment in the capacity of Master Scheduler, Material and/or Production Planner using MRPII/ERP software (preference will be given to those with JD Edwards)

Education & Skills:

• A post-secondary education in the field of Materials Management or Business Administration
• CPIM or CSCP Certification preferred
• Ability to co-ordinate and prioritize tasks and assignments and demonstrate attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement concepts, tools and methodology
