We’re  looking for Production Management Assistants to be part of our talent pool covering some of the BBC’s flagship programming including: daily programmes such as BBC Breakfast and Newsnight; one off Current Affairs documentaries and short series such as One Day in Gaza , Ade on the Frontline and Undercover with the Clerics; Radio output ranging from Newsbeat to More or Less and File On Four; and long running investigative series including Panorama and Africa Eye.  

Candidates who are successful in the recruitment process will be placed in our Production Management Assistant Talent Pool and will be offered work as and when opportunities arise during peak business periods across the News division.  Appointment to the pool will not entitle candidates to a permanent contract in the BBC, those will have to be applied for in the normal way, and neither does it guarantee work.

Any work offered with the BBC will be conditional upon you having the right to work in the UK.

Role Responsibility

As a PMA in News and Current Affairs you will work in partnership with the editorial team.  Reporting to the Production Co-ordinator or Production Manager you will provide day-to-day logistical and financial support to the production in a busy and fast-moving environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Preferably, you'll have experience of working as a Production Management Assistant/Production Secretary within broadcast content making areas. However we will accept applications from those with transferable skills from other industries.
• You'll have a keen interest in News, Current Affairs and Factual output. 
• You will have experience of providing administrative support in a busy production environment along with the ability to work in pressurised and challenging situations
• You’ll be able to manage relationships effectively while working with a variety people within a diverse team
• You will demonstrate strong organisational skills, and will be able to manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines
• You will be a good communicator and hold great attention to detail when working at pace
• You’ll have strong initiative and problem-solving ability and a can-do attitude.
• You can demonstrate you have business and finance skills with an understanding of working to a production budget
